ABOUT THE PROGRAMME: Soft computing is the use of inexact solutions to computationally hard tasks such as the solution of NP-complete problems, for which there is no known algorithm that can compute an exact solution in polynomial time. The principal constituents of Soft Computing (SC) are Fuzzy Logic (FL), Evolutionary Computation (EC), Machine Learning (ML) and Probabilistic Reasoning (PR).

Course objectives: To provide platform to curriculum developers, research scholars and faculties to gain hands on emerging multidisciplinary techniques using Open Source Software (OSS) and interact with experts to solve optimization problems and increase technological social awareness. The course outcome is envisioned as enhancement of knowledge-base on optimization techniques and confidence-building among faculty members in using soft computing approaches for optimization problems in different application domains. After successfully completing the course, the participants will be able to apply these techniques and suitably train the algorithms for optimized performance.

About Maharashtra Academy of Engineering & Educational Research (MAEER’s): MAEER’s Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT), established in 1983, is today amongst the top education institutes in India. The strong ethical foundation upon which MIT Group has embarked, makes it special. Since inception, MIT Group has grown leaps and bounds and has made a strong impact in the realm of education throughout the country. MIT Group provides Education in the fields of Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Marine Engineering, Insurance, Telecom Management, Lighting, Design, Food & Technology, Business Administration, School of Government, Distance Education and School Education.

MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU: The focus of MIT World Peace University is to be the change that is needed in the world today by sensitizing and understanding the human dimensions of conflict and developing a toolbox of transferable skills such as negotiations, peace building, technology and management. These skills will enable graduates to succeed in peace building. This university is an aspirational university for students searching for a world class education.

MIT College of Engineering (MITCOE): MITCOE has come to be known as the destination of choice for most aspiring engineers, not only from Maharashtra, but also from the rest of India. MITCOE has evolved into a technology savvy mentor of engineers. We encourage students to be team players, rather than mute receivers in the knowledge building process.
